Nemo #4: Allen Saunders Autobiography and George Storm Pioneers

"Nemo: the Classic Comics Library" December 1983 issue 4 closes it's "Adventure" themed issue with a look at the work of George Storm. A largely unheralded artist who was definitely a LARGE contributor to the medium.

This is the stuff I loved about "Nemo", they celebrated the celebrated and also the should-be-celebrated all under one cover.

Enjoy learning of someone you may have not been aware of!

"Nemo" also offered a unique platform for something that may not have been commercially viable in book form and well before the advent of electronic media that would have supported it.

Allen Saunders had spent decades scripting comic strips like "Big Chief Wahoo", "Steve Roper", "Mary Worth", "Kerry Drake" and "Dan Dunn"...now it was time to tell his story.

Comic strips are one of the few popular art forms which are, for the most part, created by a single person. It's the anomaly that has a writer and and artist. Saunders' outlook and career is unique and well wroth looking at. This is part 1 of "Nemo's" continuing series giving Saunders his chance to shine!

Here's a quick peak at "Nemo" #5 coming soon!
